I combined my passion for art, environmental sustainability and business to launch an initiative ‘Live in peace, not plastic’, to spread awareness about the harms of single-use plastic and promote more sustainable alternatives. For this, I paint and produce eco-friendly cloth bags that feature my original artwork and environmental messages, which I sell on Instagram, at fairs , and distribute free of cost to various NGOs. I regularly visit NGO’s to talk to children about the harms of plastic as well as write short articles on my social media. The number of bags sold have been over 1200 so far and that amount fundraised has supported me in creating and sustaining an art room for students at Nirmal Primary School New Delhi .
Where it all started…
I first developed a connection to the environment as a child through art, utilizing my imagination to capture the wonder of the natural world. I would strive to bring life to trees, oceans, and wildlife with every brushstroke I made as a child in the hope to spread awareness of environmental issues. My love of art and the environment has grown stronger as I’ve gotten older, becoming a force for change. I support and promote causes related to the environment through my artistic expression. I aim to inspire people to enjoy nature’s wonders and take action to safeguard the world we call home through my paintings.
